Mining General Manager Jobs

Whether you focus on project development or operations, good Mining General Managers are hard to find. That’s why Stratum International’s consultants build long-term relationships with the best in the profession so we’re ready to help bring the right candidate and the right opportunity together at the right time.

Perhaps you have extensive experience of leading a team of senior managers and specialists to organise and control the development and operation of the mine. Or you’ve built and developed an international operational team to ensure operational readiness during the study, construction, commissioning and production ramp up stages of a project.

Either way, it’s likely your academic background will include a degree Mining Engineering, Metallurgy or similar and even a postgraduate qualification in business management. You’ll also hold a Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency and be able to demonstrate a fundamental understanding of open pit mining, base metals processing, strategic business planning and budgeting, as well as mining legislation and labour law.

Our clients are looking for proven experts so a strong track record, ideally in a number of countries and cultures, is essential.

The general manager is a critical leadership role and the rewards available often reflect this. Nearly 50% of the operations roles Stratum International filled last year were general manager roles and we anticipate demand to remain steady this year.

If you have the level of skills and experience our clients expect from candidates, we’d love to hear from you. You can submit your resume using the form below.
